All about Frisbee Golf
Disc golf or Frisbee Golf shares the joys and frustrations of traditional ball golf
and uses much of the same rules and terminology. Instead of using clubs to putt
balls into holes, you throw specially designed flying discs, similar to Frisbees
into disc golf baskets. The objective is to take as few shots as possible over a
course of a number different pole holes.
In traditional golf there are sand bunkers, in disk golf, trees, shrubs and the
natural topography make the Frisbe golf game more challenging.
Different discs have different flight characteristics, which are necessary for the
wide variety of shots needed during a round. For example; some discs fly fast and
long, others slow and straight, some turn left, some turn right.
Professional players carry disc golf bags with their Frisbee golf supply of a large
number of discs. Beginners may only carry one, two or perhaps three Frizbee golf
discs on a round to negotiate their way around obstacles to hit the designated target.
The important thing to note is that you don’t need a great deal of disc golf equipment
to enjoy the game making it fantastic value.
There are obvious health benefits of disc golf and it the great thing about disc
golf is anyone can play.
There are hundreds of disc golf courses in the USA, mostly in public parks. There
are also courses in Canada, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Sweden , Finland,
Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Norway and the UK
